Laine Publishing is a pioneer in the international knitting media and publishes premium category knitting publications such as the Laine Magazine, which includes knitting instructions and lifestyle content, as well as craft literature. Combining Nordic style and international knitting techniques, Laine publications serve the knitting and craft community around the world.

Laine Magazine has grown internationally, with publications being sold in approximately 50 countries through over 1,000 retailers. In Finland, Laine is available for purchase through various channels, including Laine's own online store, craft stores, Lehtipiste outlets, the Finnish Design Shop, and the online store Meillä kotona -kaupat.

The goal of A-lehdet's media business is growth, and Laine Publishing reaches an international audience interested in DIY and fashion. The companies share a common set of values, grounded in entrepreneurship, sustainable lifestyle, Nordic style, and appreciation for craftsmanship.

The subsidiaries of the A-lehdet Group operate independently, and the diversified family-owned company has experience in accelerating the growth of entrepreneur-led businesses. Laine Publishing will become an independent subsidiary of A-lehdet's media business, with Jonna Hietala continuing as its CEO, and Sini Kramer responsible for the company's operational activities. Hietala and Kramer co-founded Laine in 2016. The current staff at Laine will continue in their roles.

"It's wonderful that Laine gets to take its next steps with the support of A-lehdet. We value the decades of experience and expertise of the traditional media group and believe that by joining forces, we can serve craft enthusiasts even better and more comprehensively," says Jonna Hietala, CEO of Laine Publishing.

"Crafts have an international hobbyist community, which Laine serves exceptionally well with its products. Laine has demonstrated that Finnish media can become international when it reaches its own passionate audience. The popularity of craft media has grown in recent years, and together we can build an international future for Finnish craft and lifestyle media," says Anna Ruohonen, business director of A-lehdet.
